Bimetal Thermostats as Automatic Reset Type
Temperature controllers are used to maintain a temperature in your application at a specific level or to trigger an action (e.g., switching a relay) within a defined temperature range. The bimetal controller can be connected directly in series in the electric circuit and controls the temperature by switching on and off automatically within the defined temperature range.

Bimetal Thermostats as Manual Reset Type
Temperature limiters are used to protect your application from an unwanted or impermissible temperature effect. A bimetal temperature limiter reacts when a fixed set temperature is reached and interrupts the electric circuit (signal or direct load circuit). After cooling down, the limiter can be manually reset to continuity by actuating the reset pin.
